50M2 is made by a team of two highly renowned directors which are Selcuk Aydemir and Burak Aksak. Aksak not only directed the show, but he was also the scriptwriter for this Turkish crime series. He is best known for his work in Telling Tales, Kara Bela, and Deli Dumrul.
Selcuk Aydemir is known for his work in Leyla and Majnun series. He’s also the screenwriter of the Imperfect Burak, which was received positively by the viewers. The last film that Selcuck was part of became the most-watched movie in Turkey in 2014.
What’s interesting to know about Selcuk Aydemir and Burak Aksak is that they are cousins. They’ve worked together on plenty of projects and most of them have been great hits.
The Plot is Super Addictive
Once you start watching the show, you’ll get instantly captivated by the addictive plot. The story follows a mysterious hitman named Golge as he runs for his life after betraying his boss.
He takes refuge in a 50-meter square tailor shop in a foreign neighborhood, hence the show’s name. He disguises himself as the son of the deceased store-owner. After he spends some time in the area, he finds out that keeping his identity a secret wouldn’t be so easy.
As the story arc develops, Golge finds out more and more shocking truths about his past. His journey is full of thrill and suspense; it keeps the viewer wanting to know more about the characters and story.
There Might Be a Season 2
Season 1 of 50M2 was released globally on Netflix in January 2021. The dark comedy series starring Aybuke Pusat, Engin Ozturk, Kursat Alniacik, Tolga Tekin, Cengiz Bozkurt, Ozgur Emre Yildirim, Yigit Kirazci, Tugce Karabacak, Tuncay Beyazit, Hasan Yalnizoglu, and Murat Kilic, was received by the audience with such enthusiasm that the Turkish actors released a short video for their fans, thanking them for the amazing response.
After all the love and positive response, the first season received, the studio has announced a second season for the show. The Lead Actor Was in the Turkish Armed Forces
Turkish actor Engin Ozturk does the title role of Golge. He was born on September 28th 1986. What’s interesting to know about Engin is that his parents were Turkish immigrants in the war. While his father’s family immigrated from Bulgaria, his maternal family are Ottoman Turks who migrated from Greece.
Besides his amazing talent in acting, Engin is also a great volleyball player. He played the game for more than 8 years after graduating from high school. Following in his father’s footsteps, Engin had entered the Izmir Air Astsubay Vocational High School, but he later gave up being a soldier and pursued his passion for acting by enrolling in the theatre department in Hacettepe University State Conservatory.
After that, he started getting acting roles in movies and TV shows. He’s one of the biggest actors in Turkey these days.
BKM IS 25 Years Old
BKM is one of the leading film and entertainment studios in Turkey. Founded in 1994, BKM celebrated its 25th-anniversary last year. During this time, BKM has produced around 70 movies and 10 TV shows. The owners of the studio are Yılmaz Erdoğan and Necati Akpınar.
When they first started, BKM was strictly about the film, but since then they have divulged in new grounds including theatre plays, shows, local and international concerts. They unlocked new potential in the Turkish film industry.
