The month of December is always an emotional roller coaster. On one end, you get to celebrate Christmas, New Years and fill the hole in your heart with all the meaningless items you impulsively bought on Black Friday. On the other hand, you realize that another year has just been wasted away while you have failed to accomplish your goals.

In such conflicting times, nothing else can make you feel at peace, besides a really good movie. Fortunately, Hollywood understands the December struggle, which is why they come out with amazing movies during this season. Here are the top movies being released this year in December.

In Fabric

If you are sick of horror movies with clowns and houses, then In Fabric is approaching on December 6th with a unique story. The movie follows a plot including a recently divorced woman, played by Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who finds the perfect dress at a department store in London. In addition to transforming her look, the dress captivates her life on a whole new level. The killer dress becomes a nightmare that eventually destroys everything that stands in its way.

Directed by Peter Strickland, In Fabric is expected to be the perfect combination of comedy and horror.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Bringing Back Jumanji was the best decision Hollywood has ever made. Even if the plot is similar to all other movies, who cares? No one can get enough of the ingenious storyline.

The current chapter of Jumanji follows the story of Spencer, played by Alex Wolf, who goes back into the game and his friends also sign up to save him. While doing so, Spencer’s grandfather, played by Danny Devito, is also sucked in as a casualty. Does this mean that the movie will include at least one hour of Dwayne The Rock Johnson impersonating Danny Devito? We’ll find out soon.

Black Christmas

Nothing is better than horror movies around Christmas time. You can just curl up in bed, grab some buttered pop-corn and watch Black Christmas first. The movie features a story about sorority girls getting picked on and murdered by a creepy stalker. However, this time, the girls are ready to fight back!

Black Christmas has set a release date of December 13th, so brace yourselves!

Bombshell

Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and Charlize Theron walk into a bar…. There is no joke, just an Oscar-worthy movie!

Bombshell features the true story of the Fox News sexual harassment scandal. The movie stresses the real-life harassment faced by female employees, as well as highlighting the embedded culture of toxic masculinity at Fox news. The movie is directed by Jay Roach and is expected to be released in the US on 19th December 2019.

Uncut Gems

Anyone who does not love Adam Sandler movies does not understand what comedy is. However, Uncut Gems offer a completely transformative role to Adam Sandler, who plays Howard Ratner, a jeweller and a gambling addict, making attempts to leave the life he is stuck in. Although the movie has not even released yet, it has already attained a few accolades including, Gotham Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards. Uncut Gems is expected to be released on December 13th.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

When Miguel said, “I’m Luke Sky walking on these haters,” we all felt it. The new Star Wars movie also has the potential to become the foundation of many new songs.

Expected to be released on December 20th, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is expected to break records. For die-hard Star Wars fans, this movie is going to be the highlight of the year!

Cats

Cats, the movie follows a deranged storyline, in which all the cats have to dress up and perform in a musical contest. The contest provides them with the reward of “ascending to the Heaviside Layer,” which is a place where they can lead their dream life.

The plot is not the best thing about this movie. Rather, it’s the people performing in it. Cats 2019 includes the talents of Taylor Swift, James Cordon, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and Francesca Hayward.
