Done streaming “The Highwaymen” on Netflix? Then you must be
curious to know more about the notorious American criminal couple who travelled
around the United States to rob banks, small stores, gas stations and what not during
the Great Depression.
Their crimes received global attention, as the couple
believed to have killed at least nine police officers and four civilians.
The couple was killed in May 1934 by the police near
Gibsland, Lousisina.
Check out their actual footage of death!
When there’s a criminal couple in question, Hollywood would
never miss an opportunity to treat their story with a dramatic edge!
Here’s the unknown truth about the couple!
Here is a list of five movies you can watch to learn more
about America’s most notorious couple Bonnie and Clyde:
‘The
Bonnie Parker Story” (1958)
The Bonnie Parker Story (1958) is the first feature film
adaption of the infamous criminal couple Bonnie and Clyde. Dorothy Povin stars
as Bonnie and Jack Hogan as Clyde; his character was named Guy Darrow in the
movie, though.
Directed by William Witney, this movie is loosely based on
the life of Bonnie and Parker. Despite being the first feature film of the
couple story, the movie didn’t receive as much attention as it should have. It
got completely overshadowed by the blockbuster hit released a decade later (see
below).
Bonnie
and Clyde (1967)
Directed by Arthur Penn, Bonnie and Clyde is considered one
of the first movies of the New Hollywood era! It broke many cinematic taboos
that had been deeply rooted in the American film industry! The movie offers a
new type of romanticized violence that has never been filmed before! Not only
this, the film influenced other filmmakers to be more open in portraying sex
and violence in their movies.
Apart from the cinematic aspect, Bonnie and Clyde is a
biological crime movie that will definitely give you insights about the real-life couple. The good news is, it is coming to Netflix!

Bonnie
and Clyde: The True Story (1997)
Directed by Gary Hoffman, it’s a made-for-TV movie that hasn’t
caught much of people’s attention. You can even watch the entire movie on
YouTube! Starring Tracey Needham as Bonnie and Dana Ashbrook as Clyde, the
movie tells the story of the criminal couple and their crimes taking place
during The Great Depression.
You may not find it as violent as the 1967 film, considering
that it’s for TV audiences; and honestly, it fails to portray the actual story
of Bonnie and Clyde. But it’s there on YouTube, in case you want to consume
more couple-turned-criminal content!
Bonnie
and Clyde vs. Dracula (2008)
A dated movie franchise without any Vampire/Dracula version?
Impossible! So, here’s the Dracula version of Bonnie and Clyde’s story! Tiffany
Shepis playing Bonnie and Trent Haaga playing Clyde, the film gives a unique
treatment to the original story of the couple, with an obviously creepy edge!
In the movie, the couple encounter a re-animated Dracula, named Dr. Loveless,
during their robberies.
