Not just one, or two, but there are three titles for the upcoming
sequel of Marvel’s Spider-man series…
Seems like the creators are brainstorming the potential movie
titles and teasing them to fans for their recommendations. Why, though?
Last night, actor Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon
posted the first stills from the movie along with three different titles:
Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker and Spider-Man: Home Slice.
And now, we all are scratching our heads, wondering “what the F is happening?”
“So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. Can’t wait
for you lot to see what we have been up to,” wrote Holland on his Instagram
post.
The fact that he didn’t spoil anything is shocking in itself…
His fellow cast member, Batalon— who played Parker’s best
friend, Ned Needs— also took to Instagram to reveal the title and wrote, “We’re
so excited to share the title of our new movie!”
Zendaya, on the other hand, captioned her post saying, “So
excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. So proud of this one… FOS is
back!”
What does this even mean?
The one thing we can make out from these titles is that: There’s
gonna be a multi-universe storyline for sure! Peter Parker is no stranger to the
existence of the multi-universe; the dude even went to space! So, there’s a
possibility that we will see Peter Parker jumping from one universe to another,
or maybe there will be more than two dimensions (as we have seen in Spiderman multiverse animated movie),
who knows?
The word “HOME” is common in all three titles, so the action
will probably take place in Parker’s home town i.e: in Queens, New York. The rest of
the words “Phone,” “Slice” and “Wrecker” may be a puzzle or an anagram, like
Tom Marvollo Riddle was translated as an anagram for “I am Lord Voldemort.”
Moreover, all these titles are written in different fonts and colors.
Maybe each of these titles with different fonts may represent three different
villains coming up in the movie. We mean, it could be a possibility, right?
Is it just us or you, too, feel that the title “Phone Home”
hints something Extra-Terrestrial, like the 1982 ET movie. Is ET making a cameo
in the Spiderman movie? Is there going to be alien invasion? Is venom
returning? Who’s wrecking whose home?
Guess we have to wait till the official announcement or the
trailer to find out!
Look, we can make several theories out of it! Not just us, but
ever since the titles got released online, fans’ theory mills have been running
wild!
Here’s how they are reacting to the multi-titles reveal:
Just btw, Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina are already confirmed
to be reprising their roles as Electro and Doctor Octopus from Sony Spiderman
movies. Our beloved Doctor Strange aka Benedict Cumberbatch is also connected
to the film. Marvel Chief, Kevin Feige reportedly announced that the events of
the upcoming Spiderman movie will proceed into the sequel of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
(The movie is slated to release in March, 2022).
Obviously, we have seen Peter Parker jumping from different dimensions
in 2018’s animated Spiderman: Into the
Spider Verse. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see our friendly
neighborhood Spiderman entering into the vast web of multi-dimensions. And
while he’s there, he meets Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield… Gosh, we are
already hyped!
Not sure about the title, but at least we’ve got the first
glimpse of the upcoming movie. Check out the exclusive stills from the Spiderman: Whatever the Tile is here:
Well, the only relevant title for the current times is Spider-Man: Work from Home, isn’t it?
