James Bond may have
taken a step back until the pandemic dissolves, but Paul W.S. Anderson’s
Monster Hunter movie is still making its move with its first real look. The trailer of the movie was just
released with giant fonts declaring its presence in the theatres in December!

Okay fine, this wasn’t
exactly a trailer, since the footage was only 13 seconds of surprise so teaser might be a better choice of word. But again, a lot
happened in those 13 seconds – Milla Jovovich and her squad man miniguns and
they possess a couple of rifles like it’s no big deal. If you look closely, you
may even find a glimpse at a Black Diablos, a gigantic triceratops-esque beast!

The basic synopsis of
the movie suggests that Jovovich and company will trade their guns for blades
so fans can sit back and relax because the blades aren’t going anywhere.

Following is the
synopsis released for the movie:

When an unexpected
sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan
Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that
this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying
monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the
unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him
to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures.

As Artemis and Hunter
slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral
(Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their
world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for
the ultimate showdown.

Some official
photographs of the crew have also been released along with the teaser. Jovovich
has also revealed in one of the interviews that the dual blades will more
likely be her weapon of choice! Anderson, the filmmaker, stated that the film
was 100 percent finished by July.

We certainly can’t wait
to see this best-selling game come to live in theatres!
