HBO has released an official
trailer of a mysterious and compelling new crime series titled “Pray, Obey,
Kill”. The documentary series is a new addition to the religious cult and
bizarre sect stories. What is the story really about? When can I watch it?
There are so many questions that come to your mind when you think of it!

on Real Life


It was actually the January of
2004 when several gunshots rang across the remote Swedish village in Knutby.
This is when people discovered a young woman murdered in her bed. Soon, people
started looking at the community – they searched and interrogated the husband
of the victim, the sect’s pastor, the victim’s 26-year old nanny, and even the

leader of the sect who is known as the Bride of the Christ.

Notoriety


The case ended up gaining
international notoriety, because the nanny ended up confessing the crime within
days, claiming that she committed the crime by the will of God and that she had
received a sign through text messages!


Scandalous
Love Triangle


The story changed drastically
in the matter of a few days. This was actually the consequence and doing of a
scandalous love triangle, which led to the unraveling of a suspicious new death
that had actually occurred before this crime.


The
Real Culprit


In reality, it was discovered
that the murderer was the leader of the sect who had exerted power over her
congregation. This was an intriguing case that happened in Sweden, and that’s
not a place where you’d expect serious religious murders to come out from.


The
Docuseries


The docuseries traces the
chilling events and the consequences of brutal police investigational, cruel
criminal trials and this shocking new docuseries! Anton Berg and Martin Johnson
have managed to examine the case of this strange murder meticulously. They took
in-depth interviews with journalists and police investigators to get to the
bottom of this murder. 


The documentary makers also
reached out to the former sect members as well as the family members of the
victim. It came as no surprise that these people had suffered from
psychological and physical abuse. Of course, many new theories were released,
and we got to see material that was exclusive and heart-wrenching.


Henrik Georgsson, an
award-winning Swedish filmmaker, is the director placed for this project. He
also worked on Stieg Larsson: The Man Who Played with Fire. He has credits for
many other TV projects in Sweden. It is available on HBO Max and is produced by
Ruth Reid. The first two episodes will be out on 12th of April, and
there will be weekly episodes!
