Although the Zoom interview started out just fine with both of them exchanging pleasantries, the show got a bit confusing as it progressed because Rogen’s answers stopped matching up with Kimmel’s questions.
After some time, Kimmel asked Rogen whether or not he could hear him properly, and that is when Rogen unraveled his prank. He literally lifted up another screen that he had been holding up to the camera – before this he was playing a pre-recorded message of himself talking.
“I’ve been doing a lot of like Zoom calls and stuff lately, and I realized I don’t actually have to be there for a lot of them. It’s amazing what you can do with pre-recording these days, I’ve been very productive.” – Rogen explained.
After this disclosure, Kimmel was intrigued so he asked if people were actually falling for this incredible prank, to which Seth responded, “I gave a speech at a bar mitzvah last week, and I sold a pitch to Paramount.”
