Ever since the pandemic started, it seems like every other day, a new A-lister celebrity takes to Instagram to announce their pregnancy. We had gotten used to the routine and thought that we could no longer be surprised by any more celebrity motherhood news, but that was until Halsey joined the club.

The ‘Without Me’ singer made the announcement on Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday morning. The post was so random and unceremonious that we really couldn’t believe it. Some other reasons for our disbelief include that she wasn’t in a very public relationship for some time now. She was so successful in keeping her baby bump away from prying eyes also contributes to the surprise.

Halsey is pregnant. Her Instagram post did more than announce her impending motherhood; she also used it to let the world know about her relationship with Alev Aydin. That’s her boyfriend and baby daddy! Who is this mysterious man?

He’s an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter

Alev Aydin is a quadruple threat. Open his IMDB, and you’ll find out that not only has he acted in series like General Hospital in 2008 and 2010 but that he also has great experience working behind the camera.

In 2013, Aydin appeared in a drama film called Lonely Boy. What’s interesting is that he was also the writer and executive producer of the film. His most recent work includes Small Shots, which is 2017 comedy series about two friends trying to make it big in Hollywood. Aydin is credited as the creator, writer, and executive producer of the show.

Moreover, you’ll also find his name in the credits for a short film called HipMen: Los Angeles. All of these projects would make his net worth pretty great. He’s known Halsey for a long time

Though we’ve just found out about Halsey and Aydin, it doesn’t mean that the two don’t have a history together. The truth is, the couple has known each other since 2018. This can be proven by a post, Aydin shared in March 2019. He posted a picture of him and Halsey at a Lakers game that took place in January of that year.

This is why it’s safe to say that they’ve known each other for some time now. While they might have just been friends back then, the two started dating not too long ago. The first signs of romance appeared last June, when the two went out to get matching tattoos, now that’s a classic celebrity romance rite of passage, isn’t it?

The two got the word ‘seeds’ tattooed on their feet, perhaps hinting at their plans to start a family together? Later in 2020, Halsey and Aydin were also spotted shopping for art supplies in L.A. Let’s not forget the sweet shoutout Halsey gave Aydin on New Year’s Eve saying, “grateful for you this year and every year, sweets.” She also added the phrase, ‘I love you so much’ in Turkish on top of the photo collage.

He’s a Pisces

Born on March 17 Aydin is a Pisces, which makes him extremely compatible with Halsey, who is a Libra. Basically, Pisces + Libra = match made in heaven! According to the Elite Daily, Pisces and Libra are both loyal and amiable. They’ll make sure to go to extreme lengths to keep their loyalty intact. Aydin demonstrated his beliefs when protests over police brutality started all over the country. “Aside from the orgs listed (tagged) here, there are others also in need of every dollar in their efforts to undo centuries-old systems that have dismantled Black communities for generations and disenfranchised so many,” he wrote and let the world know where he stood on the matters of police brutality and racial injustice.
