Carole Baskin did not have much to say since the release of the documentary series Tiger King on Netflix garnered massive public attention. The documentary made it possible for us to get a rare peek into her life but guess what? She was tricked into sharing the details.

The founder of The Big Cat Rescue was on a Zoom call with Jimmy Fallon to promote her animal sanctuary. However, it turned out that instead of Fallon, she was talking to two Youtubers who had tricked her into believing that she was talking to the host. They posed as a casting company and played sound bits of Fallon’s voice to win her trust. Unfortunately, she fell right into their trap.

The two pranksters have been identified as Josh Pieters and Archie Manners and they admitted that they have prank called other celebrities too. However, the Baskin interview was quite unique as she shared personal details that were previously unknown ever since the release of the documentary Tiger King.

She was shown as the arch-nemesis of Tiger King’s main subject, Joe Exotic, and was not happy with her portrayal. The former zoo owner and tiger breeder is currently serving a prison term for hiring a hitman to kill Baskin. She might run an animal sanctuary but she was not described as a saint by the documentary.
Tiger King reveals concerns about her animal habits and brings to light the issue of the disappearance of her husband in 1997. Even though no evidence was found, her ex’s family accused her of feeding her husband to the tigers.

Baskin tells the fake “casting company” that she’s doing the interview “for the cats,” and uses it to promote the Big Cat Public Safety Act, potential legislation intended to stop the breeding of big cats in captivity. She only agreed to the interview if Tiger King and the ensuing controversy wouldn’t be mentioned. She said her daughter convinced her to talk to Fallon.

No physical harm was done by this prank but still, a person was forced to share information that they were not ready for. So even though, it might be tempting to make cool videos for Youtube for fame but when it comes at the expense of someone else, it is not interpreted as entertaining.

Check out what Baskin and her cool cats have been doing during the quarantine.
