Good news for all DCEU fans! We have all been hearing so many rumors about “Snyder Cut” and many fans were disappointed when the director Zack Snyder did not confirm the news. However, it is real and it is happening! Zack Snyder’s Justice League cuts will be available on HBO Max as an exclusive program in 2021.
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality,” said Snyder in a statement announcing the news.

Right now, the plot and content are unknown. Producer and Director, Deborah Snyder who is married to Zack says that she and her husband are debating whether they should release the full four-hour movie or divide into a six-part series, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Apparently, the cut for Snyder’s film is quite long. After the death of his daughter, Snyder dropped his role as the director of Justice League, and Warner Bros studio was forced to bring in director Joss Whedon who had already written the script of the movie at an earlier stage.
However, the film did not do well with the fans and a petition was started by the viewers that asked Warner Bros to release Snyder’s cut even if it is not complete.
Since the release of the movie, fans have not forgotten about it and even held demonstrations outside the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank and in Time Square, New York.

While this finally made the creators and the director consider the release of the Snyder Cut, the campaign also gathered a considerable amount for suicide awareness to honor the memory of Snyder’s daughter.
Actors Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot were also important parts of the campaign and they tweet their pictures from the set of Justice League with the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
Unfortunately, campaigns are not always quite healthy as the dark side of the Snyder campaign saw an extremely toxic fanbase that tweeted negative information about the director. DC Comic creative executive Geoff Johns and Whedon were called names like “snakes” because the fans were super unhappy with Justice League.
Even though no one could be happier than us that we are finally getting Snyder Cut, but this does point towards an important issue of fans entitlement, who think that they can mold the story and direction as per their desires. Earlier, TV show Game of Thrones and the game Mass Effect 3 saw similar backlash and as the wave of social media has made it easier for the voices of fans to reach the creators, we need to ask the necessary question- is it always healthy?
