As soon as this pandemic became a reality and state officials announced a lockdown, governments all around the world had only one fear: economic failure.
During this lockdown, we have been sensitive enough to understand the anxieties and problems of daily wage earners. It’s not even just them, to be completely honest. Many companies have been laying off people because they simply can’t afford more resources anymore due to this massive economic shutdown.
Approximately 1 million Michigan residents have filed a petition for unemployment. Small businesses are crippling down, and probably that is the reason why such a large number of people showed up at the protest against Governor. Gretchen.

“We get medical based on how many hours a month we work. Since I don’t work, I don’t have medical. So I’m a little worried after April I won’t have any medical.” – said Dale Wells, a union carpenter who hasn’t been receiving any work since early March.
By Thursday, a new number was released, and it was established that not one, but more than two million people were unemployed.
Whitmer has constantly tried to give reassurance and is working to lift off the lockdown. If reports are to be believed, Michigan might reopen from 1st May.
