So here we are finally in 2021! after surviving through a big journey.
2020 treated us like a mean high-school bitch! The one who tries everything in her power to let you down and make things impossible for you (apart a few). Actually, the year turned out to be much worse than that!
Everything we least expected happened, and everything that we expected went, well, sideways…. 2020 has not only bulldozed are pre-made plans but also made sure that they will never happen anytime soon.
Here are 25 beautiful souls we lost in 2020!
Since 2020 has disappointed us big time, people have started making expectations from 2021 – just like how a brown parent laid their expectation on a younger child when the eldest disappoints.
2021 is already feeling the pressure!
But we need to cut 2021 some slack! 2020 has done a lot of damage, which need some time to restore… and since we’re only two days into 2021, it’s too early to expect anything from 2021… but we do hope that it turns out to be better than its predecessor!
That said, we have compiled a list of things that we’re looking forward to in 2021:
Tokyo Olympics
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics have been postponed because of the global health crises and was rescheduled to July 2021. The management has already warned us that this year’s Olympics may not be the same as the previous Olympics, as it will be “simpler with a more restrained approach.” But it’s better to have something than nothing, right?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will debut their new podcast
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle are rolling out their latest podcast, Achewell Audio to music-streaming app Spotify in 2021. So, who’s up for royal gossips?
Tom Cruise is taking Hollywood to Spaceeeee!
Tom Cruise is all set to film a movie out of the world (quite literally), as he works on the first-ever feature-length to be shot in outer space. Assisted by Elon Musk’s SpaceX and NASA, Cruise will travel to ISS (International Space Station) to begin working on the movie this year.
Concerts and Broadway shows may be resumed this year
Sitting in a packed theatre and watching our favorite shows feels like a distant memory now! But it may not be too far now! The vaccine is already rolling out, so we can hope that we will be able to sit in a theatre and enjoy watching our favorite Broadway shows.
All the new movies are coming to HBO Max
Since cinemas are closed because of the pandemic, all the Warner Bros movies that have postposed last year will now be streaming on HBO Max this year. Big movies like Dune, Matrix 4 and In the Heights are already included in the streaming service.
An official F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion will begin its production this year…
Mathew Perry announced on Twitter that the filming of reunion episode of Friends would begin in March. It’s unclear what this episode would be about, but fans are waiting for it desperately.
Check out how the cast of Friends looks now!
New Albums
2021 has a number of musical treats for us in store. Evanescence, Kacey Musgraves, Lorde, Cardi B, Adele, Kendrick Lamar and The Cure are all confirmed or expected to release new albums in 2021.
Netflix is releasing sequels for its popular romantic comedies this year
If you have already binge-watched the entire Netflix’s collection of rom-com movies, you would want to learn more about Elle’s and Laura Jean’s love stories. Well, both Kissing Booth 2 and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S I Still Love You have their threequels lined up this year.
We will be able to hug our loved ones again
Be gentle 2021! Please let us have at least this one!
The presidential Inauguration!
Regardless of our political differences, presidential Inauguration is one of the most historical events we all look forward. Besides, we all want to see Trump’s reaction when he welcomes Joe Biden to the Oval Office. Joe Biden is expected to assume his presidential duties in January. Uncle Joe, you have our attention!
50th Anniversary of Walt Disney
It’s been a half-century! Can you believe it? Walt Disney World will celebrate its 50th anniversary on October 1st. There are a lot of unveilings to be expected in this anniversary celebration, including a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy” and a “Tron” rides, and a “Ratatouille” attraction.
All in all, we are looking forward to the world being normal again! Yes, it’s definitely going to take a lot of nerves, patience and time; all we can do is cling to our hopes! It’s definitely going to pay off sooner or later… so, Cheers to the better 2021! Also, some of the things to look forward to also include Playstation 5 and Awards season!
