Since Mr Trudeau has been in close contact with her, he will also observe self-isolation for 14 days at least. The office says that his health is fine and he will continue to work from isolation as he displays no symptoms. “The prime minister will continue to fully assume his duties and will address Canadians tomorrow [Friday]”, says the official statement.

She said, “Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon. We will get through this situation together. Please share the facts and take your health seriously.”
Everyone who has been in close contact with Ms Gregoire will be tested for coronavirus. However, PM Trudeau has been marked safe because he has exhibited no symptoms so far. This is one of the critical cases that have been reported from the world of politics. Previously, five senior US Republicans and a Canadian cabinet minister also observed self-isolation when they felt their condition resembled the deadly virus.
All the meetings that Mr Trudeau had to attend have been postponed, especially the one with the provincial premiers and First Nation leaders. The arrangement has been shifted to the phone where the authorities will discuss the chronic situation and the resources they need to control the spread.

So far, Canada has reported around 103 confirmed cases of coronavirus and one fatality. On Wednesday, they advised that the country should be investing C$1bn to deal with the pandemic situation. The money will go to the researchers who are doing everything in their capacity to come up with the cure. Until then, PM Trudeau has asked people to follow the regulations imposed by medical facilities and limit themselves to their homes.
