Michigan is currently going through its worst period in history.

Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, a new political outrage was planted by the opposing conservative party which led to an armed protest outside Michigan’s State Capital. Thousands of protestors took to the streets and rallied to demand Gov. Whitmer to lift the lockdown orders. They were irresponsible and failed to recognize the actual purpose of this lockdown.

Hence, on April 15th, Governor Gretchen Whitmer addressed the protesters regarding the COVID-19 “Stay-at-Home” orders.

“I know that people are angry, and if you want to take it out and send it my way, makes you feel better, that’s fine. I support your right to free speech and I respect your opinions. I just urge you, don’t put yourself at risk, and don’t put others at risk either.”

Her response was empathetic, sincere, and desperately needed.
