Do you remember the granny who accidentally invited a random stranger to her house for Thanksgiving? Well, her husband died, and the internet is mourning this tragic loss.

Four years ago, Wanda Dench has sent out an invitation to her grandson and his girlfriend to spend Thanksgiving with them. However, it’s possible that grandma messed up the number because, on the other side, Jamal Hinton responded instead of her grandson. He was 17-years-old at the time.
Hinton was confused and wanted confirmation so he asked her for a photo after which she sent him a selfie. What happened next was simply adorable. Hinton sent a selfie to Dench and said, “You not my grandma. Can I still get a plate tho?”
“Of course, that’s what grandmas do… feed everyone.” – Dench wrote back.
And that was it! Now for the past four years, Hinton and Dench had started a little tradition of spending Thanksgiving together
But here’s the sad part. Last week Hinton revealed on Twitter that Dench and her husband had contracted the ruthless Coronavirus. Furthermore, Lonnie (her husband) was hospitalized as his symptoms were severe. Hinton asked everyone to spread the word and “send words of love and encouragement.”
On Wednesday, Hinton announced that Lonnie had passed away. He also told everyone how the support Lonnie got from twitter put a “huge smile on his face.”
In a follow-up tweet, Hinton assured everyone that Dench was fine and hadn’t experienced any symptoms. He also called out the Arizona governor Doug Ducey and told him to “handle it way better than it is.”
COVID-19 has taken away so many lives and 400,000 people are still infected by it in the United States.
Without Lonnie, Thanksgiving would never be the same.
