Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are stepping into the Gaming world with their 2020 election campaign, quite literally!

On Tuesday, it was announced that ACNH players would have access to official lawn signs of Biden-Harris starting from September 1st.

The Animal Crossing fans can download a total of four designs and display these signs around their islands. The purpose is to promote and show their utmost support for the democratic candidates of 2020. The signs include an official Biden-Harris logo, a Pride-inspired Joe logo, American-themed aviators print and a Team Joe logo.

The campaign designers also featured Harris and Biden characters in the game, and if you can see in a picture below; Biden’s character is holding a balloon.

To access the logo, the process is quite simple. ACNH players only have to scan the QR code in the Nintendo Switch Online app. After signing in, just click on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, choose the “designs” NookLink app and choose “scan a QR code using your camera.”

After downloading the designs to your game, use them to create further merch and feature one as the official flag of your island.

Out of all the games, why do Joe-Harris campaigners specifically use Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, this is because this game has actually considered the game of quarantine, and it’s a perfect medium to engage millions of players and try to target the young voters.

Christian Tom, the Biden campaign’s director of digital partnerships, said that this game is a diverse, dynamic and influential platform that can bring several communities together, globally. For us, it is a thrilling chance to engage and properly connect the supporters of Biden-Harris as they decorate and build their islands.

The yard signs are also displayed in the online campaign store of Biden and expect to see more ACNH merch to come.

Well, in case you’re wondering, this is the second time presidential candidates have included digital games into their campaigns.

The last election, Hillary Clinton told everybody to “Pokemon Go to the polls?”

While it’s a creative way to appeal to younger voters by incorporating into their own interests, it has a cringe element and a bit of a risky move. Let’s see if Biden and Harris can pull off this stunt.
