Lyft is offering discounted and free rides to voters to help them get to their polls more efficiently.

Lyft has decided to expand its 2018 program by imitating a program known as LyftUp. This means that voters will get access to free or discounted rides from their home to their polling stations. The ambition is to ensure that every voter gets the chance to use their voice in deciding the political fate of this country. Hence, Lyft promises free and discounted rides throughout the election season.

“Every citizen who wants to exercise their fundamental right to vote should have reliable, affordable access to the polls – regardless of income, age, ZIP code, or political affiliation,” said Lyft in its official statement.

It continued, “In the last presidential election, it’s estimated more than 15 million eligible voters didn’t go to the polls because they lacked a way to get there.”

Hence, in a charitable effort, Lyft has collaborated with Non-profit organizations like League of Women Voters, National Federation of the Blind, Student Veterans of America, National Urban League, and Voto Latino Foundation to help the voters get to the polling station without any unnecessary hassles.

The offer began in Iowa Caucus on February 3rd and will continue through the election season. Indeed, a remarkable initiative that deserves applause!
