Ron Paul, former congressman and a prominent figure in the libertarian movement, was hospitalized back on Friday as he suffers from a medical episode during a Livestream on his Youtube channel.

Thankfully, he is now “doing fine”, as per the tweet on his Twitter account.

A well-recognized libertarian, Paul, is the father of Republican Kentucky Sen and three-time presidential candidate.

He started slurring his words while giving an interview on Youtube. He was talking about Federal stimulus money when the episode happened.

He was then hospitalized in Texas for “precautionary reasons.”

A tweet posted on the former congressman’s account along with his picture reads, “Message from Ron Paul: ‘I am doing fine. Thank you for your concern.”

His son, Rand Pual also tweeted that thank god his father is fine now and thanked everyone for their prayers.

Ron Paul ran for the presidency in 1988 as a Libertarian and in 2008 and 2012 as a Republican. He developed a countrywide network of dedicated supporters inspired by his beliefs of non-interventionist foreign policy and limited government, to pave the way for his son Rand Paul’s candidacy in 2016.
