July 3rd
marks the 35th anniversary of Back to the Future and as a token of
celebration, we’re getting an epic crossover!
A brand new Transformer
action figure called Gigawatt is launching – fans would identify this as the
vehicle from Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown’s flying Delorean time machine. The set
includes a pole which Doc utilized to aid Marty in getting back to the future.
You also get a clear view of Mr. Fusion which is none other than the garbage-into-fuel machine that we first meet in the first movie.
Fans would be delighted
to know that DeLorean’s gull-wing doors are still intact and you can open and
close it. You also get to see the Flux Capacitor once the Gigawatt transforms
into a robot body.
The action figure will
most likely release alongside a comic book run from IDW. The storyline outlines
Marty deceiving the ones caught on by the wind of Doc’s time machine. It will
hopefully run four issues. In fact, you can view the first issue with a copy of the original Back to the Future poster.
You must know that only 1985 boxes will
be disposed and the limited edition will be available for pre-order on
Walmart’s website from July 2nd.
However, in case you miss it this time around, you can get it on Oct 1st
– anniversary of the first time its comic was released.
