Every year on February 4th, World Cancer Day is observed in different countries around the globe. The purpose of the international day is to raise awareness about cancer and to unite people, countries, and communities to do so.

The first World Cancer Day was observed in 2000 as part of the Paris Charter, to highlight the importance of taking action to promote healthy and cancer-free lives. Every year, a new theme is given to the day in order to remove the stigma associated with cancer.

According to the Union for International Cancer Control, the theme for World Cancer Day 2021 is ‘I AM AND I WILL.’ This theme is a reminder of the fact that our actions have an impact on everyone around us, that there’s so much power in cooperation and collective action.
