Did you know that 1.3 million people use Facebook Messenger every month? But I wonder if they really make the most of it?

Ever since Messenger became an individual app of its own, Facebook has been subtly adding more functionalities to make it outstanding and more appealing. The app has several features, most of which are still unknown to its users. From addictive games to the option of adding own GIFS, there’s a lot more that you can do on Messenger.

Here are some cool features of Messenger in no particular order.  

1. You can use it on Computer

If you wish to message your friends through messenger without having the Facebook feed in the background, you can easily log on to Messenger.com and sign in with your Facebook account. Next, access any conversation by simply adding their username at the end of Messenger.com/.

2. Send and request money

For the past couple of years, Facebook has been allowing the transaction of money. Messenger allows you to connect your credit card to the app and send money to friends. It also allows you to request them for money.

If you want to link your credit card to Facebook simply go to Profile > Payments > Add New Debit Card. To receive or send money, you can hit the plus sign present on the bottom left when you open chat with the respective friend, and then select the option of payment to mention the amount.

3. Add Friends instantly with your profile code

Tap the profile icon available at the top left corner of the app. Ensure that you tap the picture at the centre of the screen. Next, you have to press My Code to display your own code. You can scan code to scan someone else’s to add the friend.

4. Play Games

You can easily play addictive games and challenge your friends as well. Hence, whether it is Snakes or Pacman, you have hundreds of options!

5. Chat with Bots

Do you miss Kik? Well, talk to chatbots using Messenger. Press the Discover option available at the bottom right corner and start a conversation now!

6. Secret Conversations

Just like WhatsApp, you have the end-to-end encryption option available on messenger where you can start a secret conversation. Press Secret present at the top right corner and then select a friend you want to strike a secret conversation with.

7. Customize your conversations

If you want to change the look and design of your conversation with friends, open the conversation and use the customization options.

8. Share news, recipes, restaurants, flights, and more

There’s a long list of integrated third-party apps available on Messenger. Simply send cool ideas and suggestions to your friends using them!

9. Scribble Chat

You can turn your conversation into an impromptu 3D animation chat! Currently, 42 animations are present.

10. Send an audio recording

Finally, if you’re too tired to text but want to engage with your friends, use the audio option and send voice notes instantly!
