If you are looking for a new iPhone but do not want to spend a lot of money on the model, then we have some good news for you. Apple has announced a new phone called iPhone SE and unlike other devices, it is quite cheap. It starts at $399 and has 64GB of storage. The model is designed to look similar to iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch screen, large bezels on the top and bottom and a home button with Touch ID.

Apple will be taking pre-orders from Friday, April 17th and the shipment will start from April 24th. Along with this, a 128GB model for $499 and a 256GB model for $549 are available for you to choose from. Just like other devices, these phones will also come with a free year of Apple TV Plus. The colours are black, white and Product Red.

iPhone SE has a better camera and processors than iPhone 8 and of course, a lower price tag. Even though the design is old the new phone has Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, the same one that is available in the latest models of iPhone 11 and 11 Pro.

Because of the processor, the iPhone SE gets a wide range of camera features. There’s a single 12-megapixel camera lens on the back (along with a flash). Apple says it’s using the A13 Bionic’s chips to improve its Smart HDR photography, which combines multiple shots into a single photo to improve lighting and detail.

The phone comes with a portrait mode and contains Apple’s “monocular depth-sensing”. This means that it uses machine learning to sense depth and faces so it can only be used on humans and not pets. It includes optical image stabilization, and Apple says it can do “cinematic” stabilization on video as well as support 4K video at 60fps. The front-facing selfie camera is 7-megapixels, and it can also do portrait mode effects.

The box for the phone also has a dinky 5W charger but if you have the right adapter, it can support 18W fast charging. It uses a Lightning connector for charging and like all the other models, will support Qi wireless charging. No headphone jack is available in the phone but Lighting headphones are present in the box.

Rounding out some of the other modernized specs, it supports Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LTE, and dual-SIMs. (The second one is an eSIM, however.) It also supports Haptic Touch, which is Apple’s replacement for 3D Touch, amounting to a long press with haptic feedback.

Apple believes that due to coronavirus, people are now depending on their phones more than ever and this is why the company felt that this was the best time to release a low-budget iPhone SE. Facial recognition was not included in the model because users are usually wearing masks and so Touch ID was the best alternative for security.

Right now, we are not sure if the phone will live up to its expectations because the deliveries are going to start later this month. However, reviews based on the specifications suggest that people are not happy with the size of the model as they were expecting something more compact.
