Apple’s annual
Worldwide Developers Conferences (WWDC) is slated for Monday, 22nd
June. However, due to the pandemic, the event will be rather unusual.
Apple will go digital
for this year’s conference. The first look of the iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS
are highly anticipated along with various other software pursuits of the
hardware store.

If rumors are to be
believed, Apple is going to announce a shift from Intel-based processors to
custom-designed ARM chips for its Mac desktops and laptops. This transformation
is fundamental and will dictate the future of Apple distinctly. Spotify, Epic
Games and Match Group have spoken about the policies of Apple quite candidly in
the recent time; so if any changes are forthcoming, they will be announced on
this platform.
Here are our
predictions:
The main focus is
obviously going to be the regular iOS update despite the fact that the early
preview has started soft whispers already. Furthermore, rumors are circulating
that Apple might be changing the iOS home screen like the new list view which
as per the leaked information has the potential to offer an Android-esque view of
all the apps. Also, some people are suggesting Apple might be bringing proper home
screen widgets to iOS – it will be interesting as the company has refused to
adopt this setup for ages.
The rumors around
iPadOS keep increasing and are mostly centered on Apple Pencil. Basically,
MacRumors has claimed that Apple will be adding a PencilKit feature that will
allow handwritten words to be converted into standard text. Some sources have
added that the mouse support that was originally attached with the release of
iOS 14 might see the light of the day at this conference.
We’re all aware that a
new Apple Watch is coming this fall, so we’re placing our bets whether or not
Apple would use this platform to give confirmation on the matter. It’s possible
that they might hold off the news given the addition of the sleep tracking
feature. Some sources even give the impression that a blood oxygen tracking
feature might be in the cards.
Since tvOS has both
Apple TV and the HomePod options, it is expected that more developments might
drop in the conference. A Fitness App is expected to make its debut with iOS
14, and Apple is also working on a Kids Mode that would monitor the time spent
watching TV.
According to Bloomberg,
HomePod might give the option of Spotify through the use of Apple’s Siri voice
assistant.
Although Apple has
ignored iMAC in recent years, this year is expected to be different.
Apparently, we might see a new desktop design and the display could get
expanded to 23 inches to give a Pro Display XDR vibe.
And the final prediction
for this year’s conference is that a new Apple TV model might pave its way.
Although the update might not be revolutionary in any sense, it will
increase the standards and double the storage size. A much-improved processor
is also expected.
