Elon Musk is a sucker for beef. From taking public jabs at Mark Zuckerberg to being fiercely competitive with Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk has made all sorts of headlines in the past. This time he has his eyes on Bill Gates. Why? Well, he bought an electric car.
In the past, Gates had acknowledged the efforts of Tesla in pushing the carmakers to go electric. However, it seems like that’s the extent of it. The acknowledgement of this innovation doesn’t mean that Gates would buy the electric car by Tesla. Anyway, long story short, he has a Porsche Taycan, and when Musk found out about this, his response was bitchy as predicted.
By purchasing Taycan, Gates has actually hit the sore spot of Musk. Despite having a wider range than Taycan, Musk has always been jealous of the brand. In fact, he even ended up picking up a fight with Top Gear. Why? Because the TV show suggested that a Taycan can beat Model S in a race.
It’s interesting how both the personalities who’ve built such incredible empires for themselves are entirely different. However, one commonality between them is that the two geniuses are huge admirers of Nick Bostrum, the Swedish philosopher who suggested that artificial intelligence can surpass human intelligence. But in regards to their approach, Musk is more like Steve Jobs.
