Sony has made some
major announcements this week, including price and release date of the PS5
along with the company’s six launch titles that will be available for purchase
later. Now if you’re wondering whether or not you can play your PS4 game
collection on the new PS5, you’re in luck because there’s a high chance that
you will. Your new PlayStation is capable of playing 99 percent of all video games so keep it up with your PlayStation 4’s library.
So far, we know that
the new console is “99%” backwards compatible – the company has tested PS4 games
on it. This news makes us feel extremely relieved!
But the thing is, Sony
hasn’t released the list of games that will be backward compatible.
Interestingly, some birds say that you will be able to download and play the
classic collection of PS4 games using the PlayStation Subscription. The games
include God of War, The Last of Us: Remastered, and Uncharted 4.
Do you remember the
2013 launch of PS4? Well, even though a lot of things are hanging in the air, the
situation is better today. In addition, Xbox One didn’t offer backward
compatibility either, however, the option was made available in 2015 when the
Xbox 360 games expanded. Over time we’ve noticed that Microsoft has
individually checked whether or not these games work on Xbox One.
Microsoft has promised that
users will be able to play thousands of games from the
Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the original Xbox on the upcoming Xbox Series S and
Series S!
