If you’re one of those who break their
phone’s display within just months of purchasing it? So, you better take notes
from this article, as Apple has just revealed how much it is going to cost you
in repairing iPhone.
Apple says that the screen repair price of iPhone
12 Pro is the same as the iPhone 11 Pro the previous year, despite it containing latest ceramic-hardened glass. But the base repairing cost of $279 has lifted by $80 in comparison to the iPhone 11, and it will cost around $50 to $449 to
repair “other damages.”
Repair costs for the 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max haven’t been announced yet.
The repair cost of $199 increase for the base of the iPhone
12 is quite huge, maybe because now it contains an OLED display instead of an LCD display. But for the 12 Pro, the repairing cost
is $279, which is exactly similar to what the company, since 2017’s iPhone X, has been charging for
screen repairs. The screen repair price covered by
AppleCare Plus insurance remains constant at $27.

Apple claims that the latest ceramic-hardened
displays integrated into the iPhone 12 series are four times better resistant to
damages from drops, which doesn’t seem to have contributed to the increase in
the overall price, despite potentially slicing down the company’s own profit
margins.
Maybe, it’s something to do with the repair cost
of what they referred to as “other damages.” The repair cost of the iPhone 12 Pro
is $549 that is similar to the existing repair cost of the iPhone 11 Pro.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 presently costs $449 and in comparison to $399 to fix the iPhone 11.
The price of the damages covered by Applecare Plus is still unchanged at $99.
Overall, there’s not much difference in repair
cost for future owners of iPhone 12 Pro, but it’s saddening to see the latest
baseline iPhone has a lot more costly repairs.
