Sony has finally revealed all the specifications for PS5, and it couldn’t be more exciting. The only feature that went against our expectations was that the console wouldn’t be limited to SSD only. It will also have support for USB hard drives, but these slower expandable storage options are made mostly for backwards-compatible ps4 games.
The custom SSD inside uses a standard NVMe SSD, allowing for future upgrades, but you’ll still need an SSD that can meet Sony’s high-spec standards here — at least 5.5GB/s.

The company has said that the new hardware will add support for both 8K gaming as well as 4K gaming at 120 Hz and 3D audio might be added too for more immersive sound. Optional low power consumption to save energy is also being discussed, and backwards compatibility with PS4 titles could be seen in the console.
