Spotify Premium Now Allows You To Host A Listening Party With Up To Five Friends

You
can now listen to the same songs with five of your best friends at the same
time all thanks to Spotify! This new feature is called Group Session and if
you’re a premium user, you can generate a link and share it with five users of
your choice. However, it’s important for them to have a Spotify premium too.

While
you enjoy your listening party, you can allow any member of the party to
resume, play, pause, or select tracks. There’s no option to chat so for now you
have to rely on third-party apps to discuss the songs that you may be listening
to.

To
host a session, you have to select the users with premium Spotify through the
connect menu present at the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can then
scroll down and tap to start the session. After you press on the option, your
invitees would receive the shareable link – on any social media site or through
messages.

This
option is still in beta stages so you never know how soon you might find a chatting
option. Group Sessions is not new to Spotify as the option was launched back in
May.

Host
of this new listening party can share the Spotify Code as well with their guest
and by using it, they can join the party as per their convenience.

There’s no
denying that the company has been evolving for years and has made arduous
attempts to grow and elevate the premium user experience. For example, premium
users can hide songs from playlists.
