The pandemic has brought us to the realization that we can save many resources by ensuring effective work from home policies. Companies as huge as Facebook and Twitter are considering the importance of remote work and we are glad something positive is coming out of the lockdown orders.

In the latest news, Square has announced permanent work from home policies for the employees. Jack Dorsey, the CEO of the company said that workers would be able to use this advantage even after the shelter-in-place orders are lifted. The same statement was released by Twitter last week and Dorsey heads both these companies.

“We want employees to be able to work where they feel most creative and productive,”
a company spokesperson told The Verge. “Moving forward, Squares will be able to work from home permanently, even once offices begin to reopen. Over the past several weeks, we’ve learned a lot about what it takes for people to effectively perform roles outside of an office, and we will continue to learn as we go.”

This policy mostly applies to employees who can work at home with laptops and WiFi. Other people like those working under security personnel or office facilities would still have to come to the workplace.

Facebook, Google, and Microsoft have also given some incentives to their employees but they have yet to announce any permanent fix. The government is planning to open offices from July 6th but most companies have increased the work-from-home order till the end of the year.
