Call it an expansion of business or a new adventure, SpaceX is planning to launch rockets from a new facility hundreds of miles away from the current one.

SpaceX posted a job seeking help from a qualified engineer who can “design and build an operational offshore rocket launch facility.” CEO Elon Musk used Twitter to announce that SpaceX was building “superheavy-class spaceports” to launch craft to not only to the moon but also Mars, for a “hypersonic journey around Earth.”

The job is based in Brownsville, Texas, near SpaceX’s preexisting center. The job requirement includes “previous experience living or working offshore, or professional experience in the marine/offshore industry.”

Musk being Musk gave more details through his Twitter and said that the spaceport would need to be far enough from land to not disturb people during launches and landings. We certainly hope this includes wildlife and nature, too. Another requirement that we’ve gathered so far is that the candidate must “work on an offshore platform.”

Musk – you’re indeed a teaser!
