Twitter Disables the Tweeting Ability of Many Verified Users

Elon Musk can now have a day off from twitter trolling!

Following the massive hacking attempts, the twitter spout has been temporarily suspended for verified accounts, and Twitter hasn’t been this angelic in years.

In a precedent measure to regain control over the compromised accounts, Twitter has limited the access to some verified users.

On Wednesday afternoon, the first wave of online attacks hit the accounts of prominent American personalities, including Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and many more.

Compromised accounts posted some scam tweets asking for bitcoin transfers from twitter followers. And to their surprise, some people actually fell for the scam!

Despite removing the accounts within a few minutes, the hackers still managed to achieve over $50,000 bitcoin transfers.

THE HACK IS STILL IN PLACE!

Elon Musk’s verified account has tweeted and removed the same tweet number of times in two hours’ time.

The hackers seem to be in pursuit of bitcoin profit. The hacking incident is, in fact, demonstrating real risks worse than just bitcoin theft. Since Donald Trump uses his twitter account to announce national policies, even the thought of a hacked Trump account is horrifying. Don’t forget that the elections are already around the corner!

The action taken to temporarily shut down tweeting for many verified accounts is like a bluff to prevent hackers from creating more damage, and possibly hacking other verified accounts, such as country leaders like Trump.

While hacking is a huge concern for tech companies and policymakers, people actually seem to be enjoying the massive hacking show ever recorded in history.

Seems like the meme community just hit the jackpot!
